Ever feel like your whole world just turned upside down?I suppose that's probably how my daughter and son-in-law feel right now. While caring for their new little puppy, Andy slipped on the ice (in the middle of the night) and broke his leg (along with torn ligaments). So, today he is having surgery to repair the damage, and add some extra hardware to the inside of his leg in order to keep all the parts fastened together long enough to heal, with the hope of being able to walk again in 6 to 8 weeks! What an awful way to begin the new year! Please pray for him, and for their family at this difficult time--thanks!
Sometimes I think we live in an upside down world! Or, does the world simply have an upside down point of view (like this squirrel outside my dining room window)?
1. Why do bad things happen to good people, and good things happen to bad people?
2. Why do we sometimes suffer when we're trying to do something good?
3. Why is the wrong so often made to appear right, and whatever is right and good made to appear foolish?
4. Why are good intentions so often misunderstood and criticized?
5. Why is this world system opposed to the way God planned our world?
6. Why are passionate God-lovers considered to be religious fanatics, while the "luke-warmers" are more easily accepted by other Christians?
7. Why are liars believed, and those who tell the truth are distrusted?
8. Why is the simplest act of kindness often the hardest to do?
9. Why does a dishonest person usually get further ahead than an honest person?
10. Why does this squirrel insist on hanging upside down to eat?
Simply because that's the way it is in a squirrely world!

Our prayers are with Sherry and Andy since I talked to Dad on the phone today and found out.What a bummer for starting the new year fresh.Off the foot but thank goodness has the use of both arms and hands.Lord willing he will be able to work in his work shop one legged with the other propped up,maybe using Sherry as a foot rest.I love you all much.Earl at this time six weeks ago did his hand in at work.His hand has been disabled since Thanksgiving eve.He was just finishing up work when he was working at his work saw and the piece of wood kicked back at him and sent his hand into the saw unit.It cut right into the bone and was pretty bad.He has been allowed to return to work just now in a capacity to allow for his disabled hand.It will be six more weeks before he goes back in to have it rechecked.Annette and I we're waiting for him to get home that eve so we could go out to get food for our big dinner.Instead I went out by myself,she traveled into Grand Rapids to spend the rest of the night at the hospital and our dinner was put off until the following week.At the same time flu hit our house real bad which didn't help for another week.Our prayers will definately be with them during their ordeal,God speed his recovery.

Andy is on his way home from the hospital right now, and surgery appears to have been successful. Screws and a plate are in plate and everything has been realigned nicely! Thanks to the Lord for answered prayer, and thanks to anyone who prayed!
Oh my - how terrible this is. I am thankful he is not alone and will get good care during his time of healing, even though it is sure to be a frustrating period in his life in some ways.
Thank God for a country where there is good medical care for these unexpected situations.
Hang in there, upside down or not! The Lord will soon come and turn things right side up.(Go watch "Narnia") In the mean time we trust in Him.
So many questions, So little time!! Hummmm???? Which one will I take first?? Now, that's something I will have to stop and consider from "all points and avenues"!! Maybe I should take a lesson from that squirrel and sleep "upside down", so I can think better. hee hee
