The picture above so perfectly fits and describes my story—uphill, downhill, round and round, exciting, and scary, bright spots and dark spots. My “joyful journey” has sometimes been an amazing thrill ride and sometimes just a big downward spiral! But, the emotional, mental, and physical struggles are all part of the story, and through it all, I see clear reflections of God’s amazing grace.

For You Today
Every day begins and ends with His purpose--
there isn't a detail that escapes His eye...
a trial that doesn't touch His heart..
or a single experience beyond His compassion.
Every moment of your life is in His care--
and I pray that He gives you overwhelming peace and hope today.
"Pray about everything; tell God your needs...
If you do this, you will experience God's peace,
which is far more wonderful than the human mind can understand."
(Philippians 4:6-7)

A Post-Mothers Day Post
As you have battled depression for so many years, you have
chosen to focus your life on these same things, loving God, loving others and
choosing joy. It can easily be said about you by everyone who knows you that
these are the things your life centers upon.
Through heart aches and heart attacks, through broken
relationships and major life transitions, through it all--you have maintained
your focus. Your passion has not wavered, even though you must battle daily to
keep it in the forefront.

That is courageous.
I admire that and strive to emulate it.
Thanks, Mom, for being a good example to me, and someone I
can look up to. I love you.
Happy Mother's Day.

Extravagant Love
The truth is:
Ephesians 5:2 says: "Imitate God, therefore, in everything you do, because you are His dear children. Live a life filled with love, following the example of Christ. He loved us and offered Himself as a sacrifice for us..."
The first question is: How do you love HIM?
The second question is: How do you love others?
Right before it says: "Live a life filled with love", it says:
"Get rid of all bitterness, rage, anger, harsh words, and slander, as well as all types of evil behavior. Instead, be kind to each other, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God through Christ has forgiven you." (Ephesians 4:31-32)
Really?
Yes, really!

A Mother's Memories
I walked the halls of my memories today
and saw my mistakes along the way.
My heart was saddened to see such dismay,
but, as I lingered, they faded away.
And, then something new came into view—
images of joy
with my girl and my boy.
They led me beyond my regrets of the past,
into countless delights,
There I found pleasure and treasures galore--
happiness, sweetness, funniness and more-- abundance of joy
in my vast memory drawer--
more than one heart should be able to store!
Now blessing upon blessing is mine to keep,
but, share it I must, as the joy runs deep!
For I hope to impart to my girl and my boy,
their mother’s heart, overflowing with joy!
For I hope to impart to my girl and my boy,
their mother’s heart, overflowing with joy!
