The picture above so perfectly fits and describes my story—uphill, downhill, round and round, exciting, and scary, bright spots and dark spots. My “joyful journey” has sometimes been an amazing thrill ride and sometimes just a big downward spiral! But, the emotional, mental, and physical struggles are all part of the story, and through it all, I see clear reflections of God’s amazing grace.

A Warm Welcome!

It's hard to believe the first week of July is almost gone! Didn't it just begin? Oh, I guess my focus was on a wedding when the month of July arrived.

July 1st: Canada Day; my niece's wedding day, and the bride's birthday -- all on the same day! What fun, complete with fireworks, beautiful warm sunshine, and the best scenery you can imagine! It was a wonderful family time, but it's always nice to come back home!

I came home on the "Fourth of July" to find a yummy little picnic supper awaiting my arrival.
We ate outside on the deck: outdoor-grilled cheeseburgers, potato salad, corn on the cob, wine, and freshly picked berries,
(raspberries and boysenberries, hand-picked that very day, by Larry himself!) generously spooned over little sponge cakes, with whipped topping. We stayed outside for the rest of the evening and watched the fireworks from our deck.

What a fun way of welcoming in July, and a delicious way to be welcomed home!

Sounds very nice. Now that you've made it back Penticton is having thundershowers after thundershowers and we're all tenting it!

What a wonderful way to end your trip. On our trip back, we had another overnight at my brother Jim's, and stopped in at Ron's tree planting camp. Both with right along our route.

I'm glad you all made it back for the 4th of July fireworks! So cool that you got in on both of them. We watched them on Ed's brother Jim's t.v in Quesnel, British Columbia that evening. It was great to be able to watch them. His brothers house is right on the lake. It was so beautiful to wake up to the smell and sound of the lake in our room. Man! I miss the lake!!

Did you just watch fireworks from your deck, or did you go someplace? We just lit some off here in the yard this time, but then we were surprised that we could see Florence's big show from our house. Bonus!
