We arrived home from our vacation in Hawaii yesterday, and today we finally have our long-awaited answer regarding Larry's job situation.
He has been given the approval we have been hoping for . . . the "go-ahead" to begin another three months of employment! He will now be working for the "parent company" of the company he previously worked for...on a three-month trial basis, trying to recoup monetary losses from fraudulent mortgage loans. The really nice thing about this new job is that he will be working from home, setting up his office downstairs, in our walkout lower level.
So, for now, we're staying put! Our house will not be going up for sale--at least until the three-month trial period is over. My challenge will be learning to adapt to this new life style, having my husband at home all the time. I've had a couple of months to think about this, and I really do like the idea!
Pre-retirement years! While many of our friends have already faced retirement, we're still looking forward to it. While some of my girlfriends are already in the adjustment stages of retirement, I get to have a little slower process of seeing what it will be like to have hubby at home during the day. This week is when we begin taking only "baby-steps" into that world. Hopefully, for us, retirement is still several years away.
For now, we have our answer: God has provided a new job for Larry. Now we'll begin another waiting period -- three more months of employment before we have to say, "What's next?"

That is "awsome"! It sounds like a very positive thing for you guys. And who knows? This could be his job for quite awhile yet.
So cool!! No more long drives to work. And you have him there with you. I am very thankful for you both that this worked out.
It is also nice to know you are back home safe and sound. I will be waiting to see pictures.
This is a wonderful outcome to all the waiting and a great Welcome Home Gift for you. Congratulations....I can just imagine...when his work load gets tedious, he can just walk out the door and jump into the pool! Now that is a perk!
Congrats!!! So happy to hear you got a positive answer to Larry's proposal. You are fortunate to have the space to set up a home office. Larry's idea is a good one, and if anyone can be successful at it, he's the one. With the office on the lower level, it will be almost like he isn't there. We will continue to pray that Larry will meet all his goals for the next three months and beyond...
That's great, Mom! How exciting for you both!
Thanks, everyone, for your comments. Carol-Ann is right...there is no pool at this home (that was at our home in California). Here Larry would surely go rolling down the hillside, straight into the parking lot of the Mormon church at the bottom of the hill, if he tried to make a flying dive into a make-believe pool!
May the Lord grow you closer to Himself & each other during this 3 month trial period. It was great to return from Spokane, (where I dropped Esther off at the airport for a flight to Virginia to meet & visit her birth Dad for the 1st time), & to read your good news!!
Thats wonderful to hear that Larry will have employment for another three months. Its good to see you won't need to sell the house and move again for awile anyway.Glad to hear your home safe and sound from your trip.
Congratualtions to Larry and you. How good for God to provide your heart's desire.
Hawaii, what can I say, how nice, reviving, and beautiful. And I'm jealous. :)
