We have been safely tucked away at home for two days in a row, due to all the snow, and bad roads, and cars and trucks spun out everywhere. But, we're not about to let cabin fever set in. Perhaps the perfect antedote for this malady is to get out and play in the snow!Have you noticed how nice everyone gets when the weather knocks us for a loop? Neighbors come out and talk to each other, kids play and adults watch (some adults play too), and everyone laughs and has fun--even with strangers!
Our son went to work very early in the morning yesterday, only to find himself somewhat stranded in Portland for an overnight, at his workplace (a college) that waited until mid-morning to announce their closure. He finally got home this afternoon, about an hour ago, and couldn't resist playing in the snow.
Larry and I had just gone outside to go for a walk when we saw his vehicle come around the corner. So we stopped to talk, and, next thing we knew, we were helping him build a snowman. What fun! Snow just brings out the kid in us!
Then our neighbors came out and decided to join us for a walk around the neighborhood. There were several snowmen to greet us as we joined their cold, cold world, with warm, warm hearts, contentedly chatting away, as we breathed in the delicious fresh, crisp air, in a white winter wonderland.

I like Mr Snowman! Don't get that opportunity too often, do you. Here we have to wait for warmer weather so the snow will stick, and so we can stay outside long enough to do so. Should be great in a day or 2.

I don't know who looks happier--Frosty--or you!! Sounds like you had great fun. You definately have more snow than we do. Bill and his brother went up north to ski last night for the weekend so I'm home alone with my sore foot. Have an appointment with a podiatrist on Monday as x-rays and blood test showed normal.

What fun memories to think of, from the past, in Michigan when we would make all the snowmen. Thank's Jeannie for putting the pictures in here. They are great!!
We have had our "share" of the white stuff again this last week. Ed and I did make it to work tho. I found out after I was already there that the manager had told the associates at night that they didn't have to show up for work in the morning, if they were from out of town. What a bummer!!
Love the Snowman! Love the happy lady standing next to him! Looks like a good example of 'making the most of your circumstances'!! And yes..it's amazing what happens when the weather throw you for a loop. Suddenly we all have something in common, and if the electricity is out, and we can't be indoors watching TV or on the computer...we have time to be outside, going for walks, and yes...talking to the neighbours. Funny how that works eh? Enjoy your Snowman...before you know it, the sun will be out..and 'Frosty' will be a puddle!

Not entirely, although he is in two pieces--as a result of "vandelism" (probably attack by local teenagers). It was so sad to find him flat on his face, just one day after he was created! We still have little pockets of snow here and there.
