The picture above so perfectly fits and describes my story—uphill, downhill, round and round, exciting, and scary, bright spots and dark spots. My “joyful journey” has sometimes been an amazing thrill ride and sometimes just a big downward spiral! But, the emotional, mental, and physical struggles are all part of the story, and through it all, I see clear reflections of God’s amazing grace.

Surgery Update

Larry is still in surgery. At 12:30 we were informed that he was doing well. They had just finished "harvesting" the veins and arteries to be used in the bypasses. Preliminary expectation at that point was to do 5 bypasses. He was hooked up to the heart-lung machine and the second half of surgery was ready to begin. It was expected to take two more hours, which means he could be done about 2:30 our time. We've had various close friends with us all day so far, which has provided wonderful support, prayer, fun and laughter for all of us.

Please keep praying . . .

Thanks!

Yes, thanks for the series of updates as we pray. Thanks also for the phone call I received just as I started to read the last update! Tell Larry that he will be front & center in our prayers until he's past the first couple of weeks post-op. Love...
