The picture above so perfectly fits and describes my story—uphill, downhill, round and round, exciting, and scary, bright spots and dark spots. My “joyful journey” has sometimes been an amazing thrill ride and sometimes just a big downward spiral! But, the emotional, mental, and physical struggles are all part of the story, and through it all, I see clear reflections of God’s amazing grace.

A Very Good Day!

Today was a day of celebration for us -- a day to celebrate Larry's recovery--at its half-way point.

Larry fixed our breakfast and our dinner. Actually, I think he got tired of waiting for me to fix breakfast, so he did it--a nice change of pace for me. Dinner....well, he was being a very nice husband to his tired wife who had spent a few hours working in the yard, raking leaves and mowing the lawn. Okay, so I'll be honest and proudly admit he also worked in the yard this afternoon, blowing and raking leaves. It was a beautiful day to spend our time outside during the afternoon!

Then, as we sat down to eat dinner, we were treated to a beautiful display in the sky--a mesmerizing sunset that could not be ignored! I had to go out onto the deck twice during dinner to get a full-size view of the magnificent artwork. It seemed as if God Himself had just decided to paint an incredible picture for us to enjoy while we dined. This is only a birds-eye view of what we saw! The beauty spread across the sky as far as we could see in any direction. God's handiwork is truly amazing! The skies declare the glory of God..."
