The picture above so perfectly fits and describes my story—uphill, downhill, round and round, exciting, and scary, bright spots and dark spots. My “joyful journey” has sometimes been an amazing thrill ride and sometimes just a big downward spiral! But, the emotional, mental, and physical struggles are all part of the story, and through it all, I see clear reflections of God’s amazing grace.

Vacation Days

We've just returned from a little vacation in California, and it's time to admit -- it has finally happened! A move back "home" to California?
No, not yet. Instead, it's the thing we've dreaded might happen to us, ever since moving to Oregon (3 years ago this month). We've become
tree-huggers!

We knew it was bound to happen sooner or later. But, it didn't happen in Oregon as one might expect.

It happened on this visit to California. As soon as we arrived at the Redwood Forest, Larry stopped the car and ran for the nearest big one! What could I do (as a good wife) except follow my husband's lead!

Hugging this baby bunny would have been much more delightful, but it preferred to just sit and visit with me, keeping a wary eye open for any movement that was too close for comfort.

Our time away was very nice -- beautiful scenery, wonderful relaxation, and perfect weather -- sunny and warm, with cloudless azure skies!

More pictures to be posted soon . . .

Today it's time to return to reality -- life on the edge in Oregon, where everything is beautifully green, and the skies are white.

Wow! Hug someone your own size! Like, maybe Larry, just a suggestion.

What fun to hug a tree! You look pretty small in comparison to those trees.

Great. Next thing you know, you'll be subscribing to the Oregonian. What is this world coming to?

Just kidding.

Glad you had a nice trip.

Sorry Sherry,
I don't think that is about to happen. I haven't gone that far. We are anxious to hear more about the last few weeks at camp.
