This all sounds awesome, if only everyone were to actually practice it in our every day lives. We too often want or have the need to put people in the place. We were born with that human condition called sin nature. If everyone were to practice showing love for our brother and sister in Christ, or with the non- christian, then the world would be such a different kind of place.
Even though we were born with the "sin condition" (not how God planned, but brought upon us by Satan), God loved us too much to leave us that way. He redeemed us from that curse and plants His Spirit within those who accept Him as Savior and Lord (Master), in order to remake us to be like Jesus--how He originally created us to be. I'm so thankful for that!
The more time we spend in close communion with Him (personal time in His Word) and fellowship with Him (thoughts and actions devoted to Him), the more we actually become like Him. Yes, it takes intentional effort and right decisions on our part. The choice is up to us, but the ability is only in the power of the Holy Spirit working in us. Failure to live like Jesus is my fault because I choose my way over God's way. Sometimes I make that wrong choice, but always regret it afterwards!
Romans 8:9: "But, you are not controlled by your sinful nature. You are controlled by the Spirit of God living in you."
